The application of shaken bioreactors is still an ongoing topic and gains in the moment even more attention due to the introduction of new shaken bioreactors (e.g. microtiter plates). Furthermore there is a general trend using shaken bioreactors not only for microorganisms but also for plant and animal cell cultivation.
Although shaken bioreactors are applied for a very long time and for important fields like screening for a production strain, media optimisation, pre cultivation, … the knowledge about the fermentation conditions are very limited.
Due to this, questions come up:
During the advanced training a lot of examples and data are presented solving among other things the above mentioned questions. The attendees learn to apply the shake flask the right way in order to avoid bad fermentation conditions. Therefore the advanced training will lead to reproducible data, to a more secure scale up in the stirred bioreactor and to optimised screening conditions to find the real production strain.
