BioLector

By combining biochemical engineering, micro system processing and optical sensor know-how, a unique micro fermentation system was developed. Kuhner distributes an automated bench-top cultivation system, which is foreseen to be implemented in standard automated liquid-handling platforms or can be operated manually. The BioLector is originally produced by m2p, Germany.

The main features of the system are:

- high throughput fermentation
  (96 reactions at 100-200µl scale)
- non-invasive online analytics
  (biomass, NADH, GFP, pH, DO, T)
- scalability to production fermenters
  (due to defined engineering parameters in
  all scales)
