Working with shakers undr the rules of e.g. ISO-9000 or GLP/GMP requires continuous monitoring of all influencing parameters such as temperature, humidity, shaker speed and CO2. For this reason all Kuhner machines are equipped with a CAN-bus (Controller Area Network).
This bus was developed by Bosch in 1983 for the car industry and has been accepted internationally (ISO standard) and European wide (EN-standard). The CAN-bus has distin­guished itself with its robustness. General acceptance of the CAN-bus for the car industry and other industrial applications is undisputed. The reasons for the employing the CAN-bus in our shaking machines are the same as in the car: reduction of wiring (cost, errors) and very high flexibility.

CAN - USB
 
 

The USB-CAN module connects the CAN-bus of the shaker with the USB interface (universal serial bus) of a PC. In the meantime, the PC is equipped with an USB interface. The power supply of the USB-CAN module is via the USB-bus.

CAN - Ethernet

 
Internet communication via TCP/IP is also spreading into the industrial field.
Via a CAN-Ethernet-Gateway the CAN network of the shaking machine is being linked via the internet/Ethernet to your PC. For the communication a UDP/IP- based block transfer protocol (BTP) is used. With this the CAN- messages will be sent to the Ethernet with minimum delay. To connect to the external CAN network of the shaker, your PC simply needs a network connection via the Ethernet. CAN hardware is not necessary.
ISIS simultaneously manages up to 5 gateways (machines).

EMI-60  (External Machine-Interface)

The EMI module is plugged into the CAN connection (rear of machine) and firmly screwed on. The EMI possesses several interfaces:

RS-232 interface for the connection to your process-control

Analogue outputs with 0...5 volts.

Relays with switch-over contacts and programmable function for the connection of a process supervision.

Digital input for a 12...48V D.C. or A.C. signal with programmable function and galvanic separation.

NET-60 (for X- and W-shakers)

The module NET-60 connects your bus to the CAN-bus of the machine. NET-60 transfers as a gateway a subset of data to your system.

You have the choice of many standardized systems:

SSI = Shaker-Serial-Interface

SSI is a simple Demo-program for the Shaker-X interface to CAN-USB or RS232 via EMI-60. SSI runs on the operating systems: „Microsoft-Windows“ 2000 / ME / XP / Vista on any personal com­puter. SSI contains a detailled description of the interface protocol and the full sourcecode (VB.NET).
