Direct Drive

With the Direct Drive, the speed of the motor is the same as the speed of the containers being shaken. There is no mechanical power transfer e.g. by friction wheels, no belts that can break down and no other mechanical wear and tear. The advantage is little noise and less power consumption due to less mechanical friction. In addition, there is no false reading of shaker speed because of slipping belts.
The stator of the direct drive consists of DC electro magnets and sensors, while the rotor is equipped with permanent magnets. The electro magnets of the stator are directly switched by the controller, depending on the position of the rotor. No sparking can occur because of the brushless system.

Quartz precise speed regulation is achieved by microprocessor control. Speed is kept constant irrespective of load.

The Single Eccentric System
The direct drive uses a single eccentric system. Only one eccenter is mounted on top of the drive so no internal stress between bearings is possible. The shaking diameter can be changed by altering the eccentric position. At least 3 shaking diameters are possible on a single Kuhner shaker.

The Parallelogram
The parallelogram ensures that the shaking movement on the tray is absolutely equal and orbital, independent of the distribution of the load. The special double steel springs of the parallelogram do not wear out like ball bearings and other moving parts. Springs last forever if operated within the elastic range.

Active brake
The heavy inertia of the moving masses in a shaking machine results in a long slowing-down period after the shaker has been switched off. Where the tray load has to be changed quickly simply press the ‘Stop’ key. This applies an active brake to the drive.

Stop at defined position (option)
When using the shaker together with a robot for handling the shakers-load, the platform must stop at always the same position. In addition, after application of a strong external torque the platform returns to the initial position. Based on the magnetic lock-in, the system needs no maintenance.

Calibration of Speed
With a serial interface and personal computer with "ISIS"-Software installed, the complete calibration procedure takes only 2 minutes and is automatic.
